FAQs
Yes, please reach out and schedule an appointment, we have numerous Partners and Managers who are eager to assist you, so there should be no issues finding a time that suits you.
Paid – Newcastle is getting harder and harder to find free parking, if you’re happy to pay a small parking fee, the closest parking and easiest parking is usually on King street or Wolfe Street.
Free – Your best bet is driving by Reserve Road and find a free park and then enjoying a walk with unobstructed ocean views down to our office. We’re flexible though and love to get out of the office so we’re happy organising a catch up out of the office over coffee so reach out and we’ll make something work.
It really depends on your circumstances, so please clarify with the manager you’ll be meeting with prior to the meeting. It’s always helpful to have a copy of your previous year’s tax returns and financial accounts (if any). However, if it’s not integral to the meeting, any records can be followed up after the meeting. The main purpose of the initial meeting is getting to know you and understand your issues and to ensure we’re a good fit for you.
Our team is well equiped to assist you whereever you are, if you run with a busy schedule and can’t make it out to us, or you’re simply not lcoated near us, get in contact with us and we’ll organise for a consult over the phone or zoom.
There is no fee for the initial meeting, it is are complimentary and obligation free
Businesses – We are big advocates on fair pricing and get really upset with stories of competitors pricing the client based on their ability to pay. We firmly believe everyone should be treated equally, which for us means the time and skill involved should dictate the fee. However, we also believe it is critical you have transparency and a degree of certainty upfront, which is how we came to devise our ‘Fair Fee Model’. At the commencement of the engagement, we will provide our best estimate of the price to complete the expected work over the following twelve months & break it up into monthly instalments over the year. At the end of the year, if we over anticipated the cost, we can simply refund the credit or roll the credit into the following years engagement. Alternatively, if more work was involved than anticipated, we’d generally roll the difference into the following years engagement or look to catch it up with a small reconciling invoice. You can read more about our ‘Fair Fee Model’ here.
Individuals – Similar to ‘Fair Fee Model’ for businesses above, we believe the fee should be determined by the actual work undertaken and hence will be invoiced based on the time involved. We will endeavour to given you firm guidance prior to any work being undertaken and will discuss any significant departures from that guidance as timely as possible if the required work is more significant than anticipated. We will issue an invoice at the conclusion of your tax return preparation and will require payment prior to lodgement of the return. You can read more about our ‘Fair Fee Model’ here.
Generally no, we encourage you to reach out and ask a quick question whenever necessary, without worrying about the clock. However, at times if the question evolves into something more than a quick question, we will be required to track our time
