A great book, particularly for businesses with turnover between $1m-$20m – as these owners will be very aware of the growing pains and challenges that Verne talks about.
As an avid reader, I loved seeing (a) that Verne highly recommends so many of the books we also admire and (b) getting a host of more book recommendations from him.
Just like anything, not all of the concepts and recommendations would suit every business – but the beauty with this one is that there’s just so many ideas that you can take your pick, in terms of what might make a difference to you right now, and then draw from the valuable insight the book offers.
I really enjoyed this book! There is a LOT of content and not all of it would be relevant to a business, but there are so many actionable items and takeaways, you are bound to find a few things that resonate. Set in clear chapters around People, Strategy, Execution and Cash, it is easy to identify which area you would like to focus on as you scale.
